Pearl Ren, MD Board Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist Dr. Ren is South Sound Neurosurgery's new Physiatrist and practices Interventional Pain Management, electrodiagnostic medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation. She received her MD degree in 1990 from JiLin Medical College in China where she was honored as the institution's "Best Graduate of the Year." During her 14 years as a physician, Dr. Ren (now a US citizen) completed her residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, performed her internship at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, and worked as a medical assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She also received extensive training in general surgery in China. Dr. Ren's research credentials include in-depth studies on cardiac rehabilitation (re: ventricular dysfunction) at the VA hospital in Chicago, and service as a surgical research associate at Loyola. She also authored abstracts for the US Journal of Shock, and performed a clinical study at the Beijing Cancer Center on early detection of breast cancer found by infrared imaging. Dr. Ren is a member of the American Medical Association, American Association of Electro-diagnostic Medicine, and the American Academy
of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She plays tennis, loves bicycling and enjoying the Northwest lifestyle along with her husband and son. |
